We are honored to have Councilmember at Large Isaiah Thomas as our main speaker.

In his 2nd term as City Councilmember, and as the newly elected Democratic Whip, Councilmember Thomas is part of a vibrant new group of elected officials reshaping the landscape of Philadelphia’s governing body.

At Tuesday’s meeting, Councilmember Thomas will talk about priorities for City Council’s work on new initiatives with newly elected Mayor Cherelle Parker, including her recent issue of a public safety emergency, and how they could affect Spring Garden residents and businesses. He will also touch on his work as Chair of the Streets Committee, and how we can better address basic quality of life issues throughout the neighborhood.

Also on hand at Tuesday’s meeting will be the Executive Director of the Parkway Council, Nicholas Anderson, to present the Council’s “Reimagine the Benjamin Franklin Parkway” current plan - a multi-phase plan to transform the Parkway into Philadelphia’s greatest public space. The plan is a joint project also involving Philadelphia’s Parks & Recreation and Office of Transportation, Infrastructure, and Sustainability.
