Welcome SGCA Block Captains!

The Spring Garden Civic Association (SGCA) serves the area between Broad Street & Pennsylvania Avenue, and the Spring Garden St & Fairmount Ave Commercial Corridors. The majority of our neighborhood is located within the City of Philadelphia's Spring Garden Historic District.

SGCA Block Captains are volunteers who help to foster a sense of community throughout this area through consistent communication, exchange of information, and neighbor engagement. Join us in helping to better the quality of life for all Spring Garden residents!

Keeping Your Block Clean!

It takes effort from everyone to keep a community clean, and SGCA Block Captains can do their part by participating in 'Sweep Up Saturdays', a monthly initiative to engage neighbors in cleaning blocks throughout the Spring Garden neighborhood!

If you're a current Block Captain, head out on the 1st Saturday of every month from 10am to Noon to clean trash and leaves on your block, and encourage neighbors to join you, and let them know about the SGCA and the Block Captain program and all that you do!

If you're a Spring Garden resident, please consider joining the SGCA and becoming a Block Captain! Or, if you'd like to help, contact sgcablockcaptains@gmail.com to find out who the Block Captain is on your block.

And, after all of your hard work, join us for a drink and a little 'trash talk' at Fairmount Tavern (SW corner of 17th St & Fairmount Ave)!

We hope to see you out there on the 1st Saturdays of the month!
